DURATION: 4 Hours
DISTANCE: 6 Miles (Round Trip)
TRAIL WALK THROUGH: Fish Canyon is a five mile round trip up an easy to moderate trail.Trail is narrow, you’ll see greenery, rock formations and some wild flowers. There tends to be plenty of poison ivy along the trail so keep within the middle of the trail. On the way there will be many narrow sections of the trail. It also includes having to step down a tree that has some wiring to help go down. There are a couple of water crossings that, although not deep, may possibly wet your shoes, so be prepared for this type of crossing. At the end of the 2.5 five mile up canyon hike is a three tiered 80 foot high water fall with pools at the bottom. The trail head is inside a working rock quarry called Vulcan Materials. As a public relations service, Vulcan Materials provides free parking and a continuous shuttle from the parking area to the trail head. Park and go to the tent where the shuttle stop is.
WATER REQUIRED. Hydration packs are great for such water necessities.
REQUIRED: At least 1 liter of water suggested.
RECOMMENDED: Comfortable hiking shoes/cross trainers, sunscreen, at least 1 liter of water. As a preventative measure, we recommend long hiking pants or wind breakers as there is plenty of poison oak along the way.
