Free Get-to-know you Outing!
Join Julie for a fun winter excursion into beautiful Rouge Park - Woodlands Area. The outing will be timed to catch the warm, evening light. Photograph the forest, woodland paths, and the river. Cross your fingers for a fresh snowfall! Get out and enjoying our beautiful, Candian winter.
This meetup is a chance for everyone in the group to meet, get to know each other, and have some fun!
What to bring with you:
- camera, of course!
- a variety of focal length lenses
- memory cards
- spare battery
- tripod (desirable for the evening light)
- cable release (desirable)
- appropriate clothing for the weather; layers work best
- sturdy, waterproof shoes or boots; trails may be slippery (strap-on grips for your boots are ideal!)
Where: Rouge Park, Woodlands Area, Steeles Ave and Reesor Rd.
When: Saturday, February 9, 2013, 3pm - 6:00pm (sunset at 5:40pm)

Unfortunately, cannot post any of my images. I took my Canon camera for sensor cleaning last week. When after I tried to download my images from camera to the computer (like always) it stopped communicating with the computer. I called them (Sun Camera Service-_ Canon authorized Repair Centre) and they suggested to buy a card reader and download images that way and told me that it is a coincidence, it is not their fault. Any idea how the cleaning and possible firmware update could cause this?

Sorry, everyone, I'm cancelling. The parking lot at the park has NOT been ploughed. You'd only get in with a serious 4x4 vehicle.
Sorry for the late notice. I was only just able to get out of my own laneway with the ploughing.
I will see about rescheduling.
It's beautiful out there today! Hope you can find somewhere else to shoot on your own!

I'm actually on my way to the park now to see if the parking lot is even clear. I'll post back when I return -- about 45 min to an hour from now. Snow shoes may be a good idea. I'll check the trails too.

Hi everyone! I'm delighted to see so many people RSVP "Yes" for this meetup. I've actually capped the RSVP's now because I'm worried about the parking situation. The lot there just isn't very big. I don't think it will hold cars for everyone who's signed up if we all drive separately. I'd like to encourage you all to carpool. Please post to this meetup if you can offer a ride/will accept a ride.
I'm coming from Cornell (near 9th Line and 16th Ave), and can fit 3 more people in my car. Let me know if you'd like a ride from me.

Hi Samantha! Welcome to the group. It doesn't look the the YRT goes out that far. Your best bet would be to try and carpool with someone. I'm coming from north of there, so that probably won't help you, but you may find someone that's passing by a subway or bus stop that could pick you up. Hope you can join us!
