More than just an Italian language class, In Italiano is a get-together for people interested in Italian culture and in learning the language in a fun, informal social setting. Led by Stefano, an instructor from Rome with over 15 years of experience teaching New Yorkers to speak Italian, in the class you will have the opportunity to make new friends as you practice your conversational skills, polish your pronunciation, build up your vocabulary, and finally figure out those verb conjugations!
The meetings are divided into Beginners/Advanced beginners; Intermediate and Intermediate Advanced students.
We will typically meet in two different locations.
The first and the last Wednesday of the month we meet in Tribeca at Space on White http://www.spaceonwhite.com/, 81 White Street (Btw. Broadway & Lafayette)from 6 to 8pm for conversation classes on specific topics. The class consists mostly of conversation, reading, and occasionally we will watch videos or, if we have time for long sessions, watch a movie and try to have a conversation about it afterwards. Each week the conversation theme will change, and will focus on vocabulary that will be advantageous to anyone hoping to learn the language for travel and social purposes. We will emphasize conversation centered on art, film, culture, current events, and Italian history.
The second and last Sunday of the month we meet for an Art walk in Italian at the Metropolitan Museum, each month a different topic. We meet at the museum, next to the info booth at 1045 and usually the walk lasts 2 hours. The Art walk are an amazing opportunity to talk about art and feelings in Italian with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic group of students.
