IDA, then Pho Cali for discussion

From acclaimed director Pawel Pawlikowski (Last Resort, My Summer of Love) comes IDA, a moving and intimate drama about a young novitiate nun in 1960s Poland who, on the verge of taking her vows, discovers a dark family secret dating from the terrible years of the Nazi occupation. 80 min.

After film, we'll gather briefly outside cinema then walk to Pho Cali Vietnamese restaurant for discussion. 1578 Main St. [masked]

Really well done, showing history of murder and totalitarian gloom. Heavy-hearted, artsy European film, but very engaging. Memorable images. Acting was very good, especially the mega-cynical, forceful aunt. Liked that old East-bloc car. Pho Cali had very good food. Wish they could fit a large group.

Looking forward to finally getting together with this group. I'll look for you outside the theater, Christopher. My photo's 10 years old, but I don't look all that different ...
