Dear Indian Food Adventurists, We will be having our meetup at the end of the month, on the 26th September. I have put together some recipes that will make our mouths melt. The featured item is fresh coconut balls. My teacher told me a few months ago that satvic (food fit for the Gods) desserts should be white and fluffy and always full of nourishing nutrients. I started experimenting with recipes in order to create the perfect satvic dessert. The coconut balls were the chosen ones. One of our meetup members tried them at an event and asked for the recipe for our next meetup. I look forward to sharing this with you all. As usual, we will work on a complete Indian menu during the class. I will be leaving for India in October so there will not be a meetup during this month. We will resume again in November. I will be bringing back fresh spices and goodies to share in our November meetup. Hoping you are all enjoying the tail end of the summer and keeping your kitchen full of fresh produce from this land of paradise that we live in. Namaste. Nimita
We often love to share Indian Vegetarian Cooking with friends. And thought a wonderful meetup would create fun and memorable culinary experiences by creating deliciously Indian cooking classes. Our hope is to create a theme menu and together we will prepare the meals. This will be a great opportunity to meet new people and expand your repertoire.
We will meet at a home in Santa Barbara, and enjoy appetizers while preparing the meal. Ingredients and equipments are provided and after we have finished cooking, we sit down and enjoy the full meal that we prepared. Feel free to bring wine or anything else to enjoy with the meal. Each cooking event will be about $30 - $50 (depending on the menu) and 2-5 hours duration.
Our goal is to bring a group of people together to cook and eat delicious foods and make new friends. Each Meetup cooking class will be based on a theme: either region or seasonal and local produce.
Some of the dishes we will prepare could include: Lassi, Chai, Cachumbar, Potato Vadas, Green Chutney, Mung Beans, Green Bean Cocunut Curry, , Bhengan Bharta, Puris and many more...
