Welcome to the Indian Spring Running Club! Indian Springs is a great place to run, bike and hike and until now there has not been many organized groups at the park or in the area. We hope to help runners find running partners with the same goals as you, whether it's training for the next marathon or relaxing the soul. To get involved check out the calendar, and join the run that looks most interesting to you. If you don't see the type of run you like, and you're able to plan ahead, ask to become an Assistant Organizer, and you can add group runs to the calendar. In addition to our Meetup runs, the calendar (at some point) will include links to most of the sponsored runs in the area. If you need some motivation, find a race a few months out, and start training today. Remember to register early, because many of the races sell out. Good luck, and good running!
To be an active Indian Springs Running Club member, simply fill out a Profile. Here are a few tips for filling out your profile:
1) Do not include any personal information on the Member page (ie phone number or e-mail addresses) Our pages are not private, thus, your profile information will be visible to everyone including programs designed to capture e-mail addresses for spammers.
2) You may or may not choose to list your last name. It is helpful if you use at least a last-name-initial so we can tell the difference between Bob S. and Bob T. If you wish to change your "name" click on account (on the right upper corner) and you can edit your name at any time. We frown on using aliases (i.e., anything but your real name that your family, friends and co-workers use for you) because it makes it REALLY difficult to get to know you.
3) While your picture is not mandatory, it is requested. This is one of the ways we can more quickly and personally get to know the other folks we have said we want to run with. If for some reason you just cannot or will not put up a personal photo, please at least put up an image of something that reflects your interests and/ or your personality.
