We will have live demo on how to water can, pressure can, dehydrate, vacuum sealing, Mylar bag sealing, discussions and possibly demo on fermentation, salting, oil preservation, jerky making. If available we may have a #10 tin can sealer available, no promises. I may even have one to rent out soon, similar to what LDS has available. Examples of materials to use for preservation and where to get them. We will be preserving various things, along with samples, and possibly take home items. There will be handouts, however you should always look up current safe food preservation practices and not rely solely on handouts. Web references will also be available. Questions like: How do you can chicken noodle soup? How to you can vegetables. What to pressure can and what to water bath can? Which is better to dehydrate of can? Which preservation technique stores longer. While we cannot demo freeze drying (YET…working on getting one)we will talk about it and freeze dried food will be available for sale.
