Can someone tell me the make and model of the 2-way radio used by Walt? I'm seriously considering added that to our preps.

Several people chuckled when I referred to Lafayette Square Mall as 'Lafayette SCARE Mall.' Here's a news article you might enjoy about shots being fired in there: http://www.theindychannel.com/news/local-news/shots-fired-inside-lafayette-square-mall-friday-night

I think it was in agreement with you comment. I stay away from that area completely. My "kind" isn't welcome in that area. :-)

For anybody that is concerned about their constitutional right to bear arms - a grass roots effort to do a nationwide peaceful protest on Feb 8th at every state's Capitol building:

I have a very large pressure canner and pots for water boiling canning. I can show both. Is relatively simple once you do it a few times. You just have to learn which technique for the variety of foods.

That would be awesome if you do that Rick! I would be willing to chip in money to compensate you moving it for the class; and I would just need to know how much/where I would purchase canning supplies at to do a few for this class.

I just thought of this. I would like to learn how to build and use a smoke house to preserve meat. Maybe we could put something simple together and try it out. Maybe even a portable smoke house.

If we want to do a class on self-defense, I am very knowledgable (certified through the state of Indiana) on Use of Force laws and am also certified in physical tactics. It would be hard to put on a full self-defense class without having a bunch of pads and a padded floor, but between me and Justin Reece I bet we could come up with some good, basic and "catch the bad guy by surprise" techniques to teach.

Start the new year by helping map out what types of discussions and meeting you would like to see in 2013? Maybe more meetings per month, maybe a different day. Bring your ideas and we will see what we can come up with.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
