Folks, the countdown has officially started. All the t’s crossed and i’s dotted. We are all set for IWUG’s 10th Annual Bash and Next Generation in IT event. We have a slight change though, we had to change the date to November 14th due to issues with logistics. We have a very fun-packed evening planned for each of you so hit the break below for all details. Make sure you look up all the important information below.

We know you have been holding out those PTO's for this and November 14th is the day to mark your calendars and use them. We promise this event is not going to disappoint. Be prepared to come early this year, the pre-event party is off the hook. Come help usher IWUG into the next 10 years as well as celebrate the launch of Windows 8, Office 2013 and next generation hardware. We will be celebrating at the IMAX, our usual hangout. We have some surprises planned for you. You will get an opportunity to preview, browse and learn about next generation hardware, we bet you haven’t seen what you will see on the 14th. To keep up with IWUG’s traditional Annual Bash’s, we will have amazing giveaways and we promise, everyone will go home with Windows 8 swag. We will however have to limit attendance to the first 300 officially registered. The first 300 to register and present will go home with swag. So what are you waiting for? Hit up the RSVP link and mark your calendars. Please, only one per person and you need to be present to win. Also, please only register if you are definitely planning on attending. Don't hoard up tickets. Pretty please! We have other great raffle items including Xbox, Xbox Games, Software, Hardware etc. If you bring a friend along, you get a bonus raffle ticket. (Make your friend register though). Oh, and if we sell out of tickets, show up anyways, we might hook you up.

In typical IWUG fashion, we will be supporting "Donate Life" as our charity for the year. IWUG never charges its members for any event year round so we urge you to support Donate Life. A representative from Donate Life will be on-hand to address the group. We might have an additional charity we will be supporting. Follow us on Twitter for updates.

Topic: In today’s corporate environments end user expectations are higher than ever before putting pressure on corporate IT to support new devices and applications as well as the increased security threats and manageability concerns that come along with them. During this session, Intel, Microsoft and OEM partners will share how they are working to meet those expectations by changing the user experience through innovative hardware and software solutions that deliver even greater manageability and security.

While most companies’ migrations to Windows 7 are well under way, the launch of Windows 8 and Ultrabooks are creating the next technology intersection. During this session, experts from Microsoft will provide an overview of the key features in Windows 8 and into Office 2013. Intel will share a preview of exciting new devices supporting Windows 8 including touch enabled PCs, Ultrabooks and tablets for business.  In addition, we’ll share concrete recommendations for organizations that are in the middle of migration planning for Windows 7.

It was great to see so many geeks gathered in one place. The material wasn't as informative as I'd hoped for someone that's already using Windows 8. There were a couple things I didn't know about, but I was hoping for more voodoo and less fanfare.

I think the check in process could have been easier with the use of technology that we are all there for, I simple name signin with a tablet or something could have made things quicker

Enjoyed the meeting. Might be a little better to find ways to make the lines smaller or move faster. Otherwise, all was good.
