Camping at Raccoon State Rec area

This is a really nice park and a wonderful lake with something for everyone.  We will be arriving Friday evening after work and getting set up in time to get a fire going and and have a cocktail or two.

Saturday is for anything you want to do and then Saturday night if we get enough people going we could have a pitch in.  Also, Raccoon lake is surrounded by all sorts of Amish farms that sell a variety of meats and cheeses and baked goods.  If you interested let us know and we can point you in the right direction.  Just make sure you go Saturday because they aren't open on Sunday.

Hope to see you all there and as always if you have any question please feel free to call, email or text us.

Thanks Heather Hitchings

I am saying yes for now- and will see if we are able to when the time comes closer, with the move and all being the same week.

This will be my first trip with the group! Does it matter where within the campground we get a site at?

Jennifer, In the past we have tried to stay in the same general area, but you are welcome to get a site where ever you would like. If we have enough people, we will have a pitchin on Saturday, so if you are not close, you might need to drive your things up to our site. We usually try to post the site that we are on so that the group can meet up. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great week!

Jennifer, are you still planning to join us? Do you have a site yet?

      June 9, 2013

We are only a couple of weeks away, has anyone else booked their site yet? Don't forget to post your site number when you have it booked. Also, if you want to share a site with someone please post that as well. I can't wait to get out there with old friends and meet our new members! Have a great week and let me know if you have any other questions.

Also, there will be no Trader's Fair this weekend. I'm sorry for those of you that were looking forward to it

Michelle asked if you pay the park entry fee and the camping fee, the answer is yes, but you might want to buy an annual pass which covers all of the state parks.

Thanks, I was debating on buying a pass if I thought I would get to enough Indiana parks this year. I am looking at joining everyone for camping for this trip should be a good time.

I'd certainly be interested in attending, but I'll just be getting home on that Friday from a week-long mission trip.

This will be my first time with this group. Can you tell me what I need to do? Do I need to make a reservation? Club fees? Anything I need to know would be great!
    Thanks. [masked]

I think I answered these questions on the phone, but so everyone knows. Yes you need to reserve a site (if you want to share a site please post this-you can have 2 tents or one tent and one camper), club fees are $5 per year to cover the website charges, if we have enough interest we will do a pitchin on Saturday night. Anything else, just ask. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Sounds like fun. I have to check my calendar to see where I am in June, but I will RSVP yes to get it on my radar. Do you know which campsite you will have?

    April 16, 2013

    • Heather H.

I will be on site 211. There are several sites available.

Well...June is pretty far out but we might make it. We've taken stuff to sell at Croy Creek plenty of times. What a wheeling and dealing experience!!
