Whether you're a fan of Eric Ries, a startup fanatic, or an "Average Joe" with an idea for a business, you should come to the Inaugural Indianapolis Lean Startup Circle Meetup.
The event will focus on Lean Startup methodology, the central elements of which are:
1. Business concept creation
2. Obtaining in-depth customer feedback
3. Iteration of the original business concept based on said customer feedback
The event will be hosted by Developer Town at its new digs in Broad Ripple (5255 Winthrop Avenue; Indianapolis, IN; 46220) at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, July 27.
The event will begin with a keynote address by Frank Dale, President of Compendium, an Indianapolis startup. The address will discuss lean startup principles, their application to entrepreneurship, and the nature of the ILSC meetups.
Then, we'll break up into smaller "focus" groups to further discuss lean startup principles, as well as questions and topics surrounding lean startup that interest you.
There will be free food and drink at the event.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first meeting. It was by far the most personal, most informative, and most practically useful startup event I've ever attended. It will be nice to continue meeting and connecting with other leaders in the Indy startup world and learn from them. I really hope we can keep the small group aspect going, and I hope to get to know some other attendees better as a means of having more meaningful conversation. Thanks to the organizers for a great first meeting, and I look forward to future events!

Frank knows Lean Start up and keeps the group focused. A necessary event for anyone trying to follow lean principles.

I was a confused attendee, there was no building at 5525, gave up and went home. Sorry I missed it, didn't see the corrected address until today.

I thought the speaker and presentation were excellent. It would be great to move to a more comfortable location. The break out session didn't work so well, because they didn't stay on topic very well. People wanted to pitch their business and talk about their current issues rather than give an example of developing a lean product and testing it in the market before investing too much time and resources.

I think if there was less group involvement I'd have given 5 stars. I already know a little about lean startup, and would like to see in future meetings more in depth information. I definitely enjoyed it though and can see the potential for a group like this to grow into a great event. Thanks!

The organizers gathered a lot of data that we will use to improve future ILSC events. Personally, I also enjoyed Frank Dale's presentation, and the small group discussions that followed. While a lot needs to be improved for future events, this meeting was a good start.

The first meetup was relevant and showed a lot of potential. With some refinement it could become the premier destination for serious entrepreneurs in the Indianapolis area.

Enjoyed kicking things off. Appreciated the open discussion and feel like this could be the start of an awesome meetup in Indy.

Good meeting. Frank did a good job under the conditions and engaged the audience well. I felt he pointed out the key elements of the Lean Startup and did an excellent job of bringing people back to them as we wandered from them.

I just changed the address -- good catch, Rob! Some unlucky homeowner would've been very confused.

The street number is actually 5255, not 5525.
