What types of games do you like to make? What type do you play if any?

I am particularly drawn towards action/adventure, RPG, and platforming games. Although I would also like to dabble in making some sports and fighting games. The three I play the most are action/adventure, RPG's, and platformers...although I play all the types to some extent. I'm a big fan of the story element of games so that is most likely why I prefer those types over others.

Do you make games full time or part time?

Unfortunately, I don't make games full time or part time just yet. However, part of the reason I am here is to maybe find some help and support as to how I might just go about starting.

What skills do you have pertaining to game development? (Programming languages, artistic talents, animation, game design, etc...)

I have only just begun dabbling with Flash and actionscript, but where I really shine is my drawing ability. I have been practicing it my entire life and, while I am no where near perfect and can always improve myself, I believe my skill has increased drastically over the past few years. I mostly just drew with pencils but now I'm trying to push my skills even further and start making some finished, full-colored concept drawings. As for animation, I have a pretty keen eye for it. I have only created a few very short animations but I understand the concepts and principles behind it enough to be able to differentiate between a well made animation and a poorly made one.

If you are not making or playing a game, what do you do with your time? What other hobbies or activites do you particapate in?

I am a huge baseball fan. If I am not working on anything, I love to gather a group of friends and go out to a field and hit a ball around for a bit. I have also started playing on a community softball team and I really enjoy that. Not only do I find it fun, but I use it as a way to break from work for a bit and relax and refresh my mind for when I return to my projects.

My name is David Stankowicz and I am currently a student at the Illinois Institute of Art - Schaumburg. I have always had a life long aspiration to become a game designer and now is the time for me to make that dream a reality.
