Indie Game Dev Night at NextSpace San Jose

Looking to show off what you've been working on? Need help or advice? Want a space to sit down and work? Or just want to socialize with other indie devs? This is the event for you!

This month we will be at NextSpace, a co working space located in downtown San Jose! http://nextspace.us/nextspace-san-jose/

Hey everybody! Remember we're not at Microsoft this month, we'll be in downtown San Jose at NextSpace. There will be pizza and soda!

I won't be able to make it to this event because I'll be out of town for work! I'm currently teaching a few high school kids how to make a game because I think it'd be a better use of their time than grinding into the night on LOL, Diablo, or whatever game they're stuck on. The game concept is simple, of course, but I am hoping that I can connect with someone that can help guide this project and smoothen out the rough edges.
I don't see any other events coming up soon. Is there another way to connect with people from this group??
    Thanks in advance!

Hey Nate. We hold events every month. Otherwise, a good way to connect is through a comment like you just did!

Hello !!! I am new into game dev and I would like to get myself started into it ! I don't know exactly how your event is organised but I would be really happy if someone could show me the basic tools etc. If someone has also a cool subproject related to his/her game that could fit into a few days of work, I would be happy to work on it. My background is computer engineering, I also did some web programming and web design. Looking forward to meeting you there !!

Hey there! The group is great for getting new people into development. The best way to start is to...well, start! Just download a tool like Phonegap and start messing around with it. I bet with your experience in coding already we could be playing your first prototype by the 17th!
