The Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party Series returns. As always, it's free at The Piazza at Schmidt's in Northern Liberties! Get there early to get a good spot!

Phantogram is an American electronic rock duo from Greenwich, New York, formed in 2007 and consisting of Josh Carter (vocals, guitars) and Sarah Barthel (vocals, keyboards). They described their sound as "street beat, psych pop". According to Josh Carter, their music has "lots of rhythms, swirling guitars, spacey keyboards, echoes, airy vocals". You may have heard the modern rock song "Falling in Love" which is the 1st single off their new record "Voices".

Chvrches are a Scottish electronic music band, formed in 2011. The group consists of Lauren Mayberry (lead vocals), Iain Cook (synthesizers, guitar, bass, vocals), and Martin Doherty (synthesizers, samplers, vocals)

Chvrches came fifth on the BBC's Sound of 2013 list of the most promising new music talent. In March 2013, they released Recover EP. Their debut studio album The Bones of What You Believe was released on 20 September 2013. You may have heard the modern rock track "The Mother We Share".

Cherub - Cherub is a sexy electro-pop duo that is the dance love-child of 80’s funk, and pop-music from the future. The members of Cherub, Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber, share a love for honest original music and vibrant live performance. You may have heard the single "Doses and Mimosas" on modern rock radio or Sirius Alt Nation.

This is a free show at the Piazza at Schmidts. RSVP for exact meetup details as the event draws closer. 1st band hits the stage at 3:45, meetup time is 3:00. Read more: http://www.radio1045.com/pages/events/block-parties/#ixzz2zGBGU75h

How was Phantogram? Bummed I had to miss them but the smoke was driving the J-man nuts.

The Piazza fills up fast. We plan on arriving between 2:15 and 2:30 at PYT for lunch at 1050 Hancock st. If you are willing to walk a short distance to the piazza there is free street parking. A pay lot located directly behind PYT on Hancock. Every member is responsible for their own separate food/drink check.
PYT is cool. Check them out- pytphilly.com
We will stay at PYT until 3:45-4pm, longer if they let us.
After 2:30 we cannot guarantee you a seat as PYT will fill up fast and they do not take reservations on concert days.
Let me clarify again that this concert venue will be PACKED. If you wish to meet-up with the group find us at PYT no later than 3:45pm as after that time you won't be able to navigate the crowd.
My number is[masked]-0998. Text me when you arrive and I'll guide you to our table.
This should be a GREAT show! Can't WAIT to meet everyone!!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
