Dear Members,
Since petitioning for US Congress and Senate took place during this month, we have received questions concerning important dates for upcoming primaries and the general election. I hope the following information answers any questions you may have.

THE DATES BELOW APPLY FOR ALL NEW YORK STATE VOTERS


OFFICES ON THE BALLOT IN 2012 ARE:
• President and Vice President of the United States
• 1 United States Senator
• All members of the House of Representatives
• All members of the New York State Senate
• All members of the New York State Assembly


PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION - Tuesday, April 24

US SENATE AND MEMBERS OF CONGRESS PRIMARY ELECTION- Tuesday, June 26

NY STATE SENATE AND ASSEMBLY PRIMARY ELECTION- Tuesday, September 11

FINAL DATE TO REGISTER FOR GENERAL ELECTION- Wednesday, October 12

GENERAL ELECTION - Tuesday, November 6

ABSENTEE BALLOT INFORMATION
Last day to postmark application by Mail – April 17, 2012
Last day to postmark absentee ballot – April 23, 2012
Last day to apply in person at the Board of Elections (BOE) for Absentee Ballot Application - April 23, 2012
Last day to deliver absentee ballot in person to the BOE – April 24,2012 (9PM)
Last day for the BOE to receive absentee ballot by mail – April 30, 2012
Last day for the BOE to receive military ballot by mail – May 1, 2012

*Primary Election dates are set by the NYS Legislature and are subject to change.
