March's book was suggested by Tonya and Lana independently of each other and accepted in January's meeting.
I read the Goodreads page and I'm hooked, it looks like the darkest timeline version of Dead Poet Society.
Author earned a Pulitzer in 2014 for another work, the Goldfinch, that Witten read and liked. It looks like a cult book which will pair nicely with the Fight Club cult book (and, hot take, the cult book part of Middlemarch wherein that Society see's something as innocuous as a doctor helping a hated man to his feet as clear evidence of murder-for-hire)
559 pages and well in stock at IndyPL.
From Goodreads:
Under the influence of their charismatic classics professor, a group of clever, eccentric misfits at an elite New England college discover a way of thinking and living that is a world away from the humdrum existence of their contemporaries. But when they go beyond the boundaries of normal morality they slip gradually from obsession to corruption and betrayal, and at last—inexorably—into evil.

Interested in suggesting a book? Bring it up to me at a meeting (or after by Meetup messages) and we can talk about it, if it sounds like it will fit I will add it to the list to be voted on by the group. There are some genre, content and page length restrictions but we're down to give most things a shot.
I have made a making a Google Doc soon that people can view to publicize the current set of suggestions see my notes on them. I've included an introduction to make it clear what I look for, how I suggest books and how to interact with the system.
