Wildlife Photography

Gary Nelson

Most of you who have been with the club for a good while remember Gary Nelson...  He's the one who did the "water tricks"for us last year amongst other creative photgraphic presentations.  Gary is going to show us how to make that fence "fade away"...and get some really good shots!  Gary has a great personality and FYI, giving up a running event to come and spend some time with us.  I applaud him for his consideration!!!

Later...at our first meeting in June, after we get back from our trip to Wolf Park on May 18, Jarrid Spicer, from the Roberts store in Carmel, will be coming to openly discuss our photos in a "show and tell".   I understand that Jarrid is quite the wildlife photographer...so, the feedback should be very good.  He says he also teaches, does 1:1, and talks to groups like ours.

In preparation of our photo shoot to Wolf Park on May 18, we will be spending this evening talking about "wildlife photography" and how to shoot thru the fence...  One of the pluses of this evening will be learning how to "shoot thru the fence"...i.e. how you can shoot the fence, and not see the fence.  What you will get will be good shots of the wildlife behind it.   Magic, huh???  We'll find how this is done...

We've made special arrangements with Monty Sloan, the park's resident photographer.   Monty will bring the wolves up 'close and personal' and will direct them for a variety of "wolf poses" so we can get some great award winning shots!

Hope you can make it for this...then later on May 18, we hope you'll join us on our live photo shoot to Wolf Park.   This is on the calendar, you just need to RSVP.  If you want to go, and need a ride...make a note on your RSVP.

Received a hint that I had never thought of before. The meeting was a success.

I don't know enough about Twitter to have specific questions. May take more than one session.

If you have a specific Twitter question you'd like me to answer during the presentation, send me a note ahead of time so I can be sure to get an answer for you. Also, if you have a Twitter account, pass it along for a handout I am preparing.

    Thanks!
