Basilica of the Sacred Heart - Notre Dame University
In preparation for the November 1 "Historic Churches of Indianapolis and Indiana", we've planned a trip to South Bend to take pictures on the campus of Notre Dame...the "Basilica of the Sacred Heart".
Throughout the Basilica and its museum, you can uncover Notre Dame's past through artifacts that reveal the history behind both the Catholic Church and the Congregation of Holy Cross. You will also discover for yourself the exciting beginnings of Our Lady's University as seen through the eyes of its visionary founder, Rev. Edward Sorin, C.S.C.
The 18th seems to be the best time. We can get in at 1 pm. (There is mass at 10 am).
We will plan to leave Indianapolis at 8:45 am, allowing us time to stop for a quick bite for lunch. We will have from 1 - 4 pm to shoot...if we need that long. There are many more things to shoot than the Basilica if you want, but this will be our main focus.
Time and location for departure has changed. We will meet at Starbucks, 96th & Meridian, at 8:30 am and leave there at 8:45 am (sharp). Don't miss us. It is vital to know if you need a ride or are driving.
Tripods are allowed. They do have tour guides, who will go around with us and point various things out...but to get our own guide, we have to have a decent # going.
