This habitat is an interior and exterior interpretation of their rainforest enviroment. Vistors can experience an intimate ground level or aerial view of these fascinating creatures.

Let's meet at 9:00am on Sunday, June 8th just inside the main entrance ticket gate. Ticket and parking prices vary.

FYI- The Butterflies are back through September 2nd at the Hilbert Conservatory.

I'm at the zoo. It's cloudy but no rain.

Hi guys, I think we will wait until later this morning to see if the rain passes through. Not much fun walking around wet all day! If anyone does go this morning, I hope you get some great shots.

I may go if it doesn't rain! Which for now looks likely. I ALWAYS check the weather before making photo plans, since I normally prefer beautiful blue sky days for the best color, etc. And I really like bright, punchy colors for most of my shots, which is very hard to achieve on cloudy days. But then it depends on the "mood" of the photo of course.

I called the zoo today and was told that none of the animals are out in their enclosures until 9:00 am.

Hi all, Is there any update on the time we are planning to meet? Did Sundaresh or anyone manage to contact the zoo to ask for early entry?

Either contact the Zoo directly...and if Or, ask Heather to check. They might; I don't know if that's been asked...just a location identified. The Garfield Park Conservatory does that 4 times or so a year for special exhibits. So...maybe!

You think we can get in there before the zoo opens for general public? The Houston Zoo would do that 4 times a year, when they would open the zoo for photogs at 7:30 (opens to public at 9:00). The weather at that hour is perfect, not too many people to worry about and the animals are in their best mood. Makes for a great photo-op

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
