 Rocky Ripple Art Fair - Trash the Dress

To all,

Everyone hasn't heard of TTD.  Or have you?   "Trash the Dress" was introduced to us by Carter Keith a few years back and got both encouraging and dis-couraging reviews!   Carter does this professionally on his own and has headed a focus group to introduce some of our members to this "fun" photo activity.  YES, some think that trashing a symbolic dress, like a wedding gown or an expensive evening gown, is far from fun!


The idea is that the dress is getting a second life...  For some, going from  a very serious to a very fun side in life; for some a way of venting "anger" (if a divorce as an example)!   The materials used to trash are all, no real harm comes to the gowns.   Believe me, one of the gowns used was my own... very expensive evening gown I had purchased in New Orleans!  And, it looks as good as new!  I've pulled some photos from last year's event to show you some of the "fun" being exhibited.  Rhonda tells me she has some great and "new" ideas for this year.   We just need lots of participants at this time...  We need YOU!

Carter is not going to be able to help us this year, but Rhonda Clark, who has been very involved in this over the years and has even been one of the models for it, is going to be heading this in Carter's absence.  Assisting Rhonda will be our very own Andre Arnold, who most of you know thru the Portraiture Focus Group!   Mike Richardt, an extremely talented photographer in our group, also is going to be assisting.

We have several new folks on board since last year, and I was wondering...  Would any of you new members (and older members too) like to:

1) assist Rhonda, Andre, and Mike in any respect?   Or,

2) be a model?  Would you like to get "down and dirty?"  Or,

3) be one of the photographers taking photos during this event? Or,

4) contribute photos to have "for sale" on a side table/easel?  The theme would be "Anything Goes". By this...bring what you got!   any theme, any size, any Anything Goes!

Last year, we had two sites...  This year we decided to combine the two sites; so we're just asking for one.

Let me...Rhonda, Andre, or Mike...know if you'd like to be a part of this fun event.   You can take part in all the above if you want!   The more, the merrier!!!

We're still working out details...and will keep you posted as those become reality.  Right now, we need you to give this some serious thought...and email our team!!!
