Indy UX Salon Message Board › Indiana UX groups
Glad to see some intrest growing in this space. Thought I'd mention that there is an existing local community in the Indiana Chapter of the Usability Professionals Association. We've had nearly 9 years of success in elevating the knowledge of UX topics in the local community and have had global interactions - one of our members is a previous international UPA board member (Ball State's Richard Bellaver) and we've brought national-level speakers to our local events, including Ben Shneiderman and Aaron Marcus. We also are collaborating with the Indiana Alliance of Professional Societies (IAPS) - a consortium of local professional organizations with support of the State Secretary of State that helps to foster collaboration and, ultimately, economic development. Current IAPS member organizations include the local PMI, ASQ and APICS chapters, while our UPA chapter, along with the local IIBA, SHRM, AgileIndy, IFMA and MPUG groups are looking to become involved.
We usually hold meetings on the third Thursday of each month at InDesign near the Ft. Ben campus - incidentally, our next meeting is actually on a Tuesday this month - next Tuesday, at InDesign, and will feature a speaker from Purdue - details are over on our Facebook page - we are actually working on getting a MeetUp page running as well.
Hope you'll consider collaborating with us.
