Monthly Meetup

Rather than prepared presentations this month, we're planning to work through Scala exercises together and make time for questions and discussion.

Dianne Marsh's Scala koan collection might be a good set to work:

Open to other suggestions and if there's something specific you want to work through with the group, bring it with you.

Probably won't be able to make it tonight, but just wanted to let everyone know that a new session of "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" started this week.

The first set of assignments isn't due until April 7, so you wouldn't be behind if you started now.

Is anybody else doing this course? It might be interesting if other people were working on it; Indy Scala could act as a "real life" study group.

Michael, Thanks for the heads-up. Do you know, roughly, how much time it takes per week?

Christopher Atkins might be interested as well. He proposed a study group for Odersky's first class in the series.

I should have RTFM. Workload is advertised as 5-7 hours/week.

Hi Brad, I'm interested in Scala, what are you planing on cover in this session?

Instead of presentations this month, we're planning to work through Scala exercises together. And there should be plenty of time for general Q&A and discussion too.

Thanks for joining the group and hope to see you Monday!
