***UPDATE 7/3/08: This game is SOLD OUT at this time, I hope you bought your tickets early! I will try to get us an area in the left field lawn area. Look for me or call my cell at 289-2355. Your best bet for game night parking is the Government Center garage on the northeast corner of Maryland and West Street and costs $5. Parking is also available at the Indiana State Museum, Eiteljorg Museum, and the White River State Park South lot, all should be $5 also. You can purchase food at Victory Field or bring a picnic dinner. If you bring a cooler it must be single-handled and no more than 18" in length and you must enter through the cooler check gates in center field or right-center field. Alcoholic beverages and glass containers of any kind are not permitted.***

This is a great way to enjoy good company, a baseball game and TWO firework shows! The lawn seating is MUCH more fun than the stadium seats so we will meet up on the lawn (specific location will be announced later) and everyone can spread out their own blankets and picnic baskets and enjoy the fantastic company of our group members. After watching the Indians vs Louisville game (which starts at 6:00 PM) stick around for a breath taking fireworks show shot off from centerfield THEN watch the downtown fireworks show from the comfort of your favorite blankie! biggrin

THIS BALLGAME ALWAYS SELLS OUT EARLY SO I SUGGEST THAT YOU PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE...do it NOW while you are thinking of it! Your children are welcome at this event if you would like to bring them.

That's right Ronny, and you would have been assaulted even worse if you hadn't started to cry for your mommy....I figured I'd better stop, didn't want your mom to know you were beaten up by a girl!!!!!

Almost forgot... Kelly made the most awesooome brownies, man. Dude, after I had one I don't really remember a lot after that. It was sooo cool. All the fireworks had tracers and I had to cruise on by the Castle on the way home. Had "the crave" real bad. Munchies are killer dude... Thanks Kel...

A word to the wise... Never turn your back on Michele. I was assaulted at the game. The police were called but they never responded. I can only speculate a cover up. Michele and Ginger seem to be very close and we all know that Ginger has law enforcement in her back pocket in this town...

Coolers and other carry-in containers are permitted in the lawn area only, must be single-handled, and not more than 18" in length. Fans with coolers must enter through the designated cooler check gates in center field or right-center field. Alcoholic beverages and glass containers of any kind are not permitted. Fans wishing to leave the lawn area may check their coolers with personnel stationed at the left and right field corners as you exit the lawn towards the concourse.

I'm looking forward to this. Did you know that parking is available on the IUPUI campus for $3. There is a free shuttle to take you to and from Victory Field. Access to the IUPUI parking lot and shuttle service can be made from Michigan Street.

Are there limitations to the food you can bring in? I suppose habchi grills are out of the questions? Bottles have to be plastic? Are coolers allowed? I've never done the lawn seats before, onoly the grandstand!

    •  I had a really good time. The threat of rain loomed overhead. Got a few sprinkles. Had some food and beverages. The Indians suffered a crushing defeat but the fireworks were great. Had a really good time...

       My girls had a blast!
    •  What a GREAT way to spend 4th of July! Baseball, hotdogs and fireworks! Thanks again Ginger for hosting a FUN event!
    •  Good game even though we lost. Nice fireworks. Only downside for me were the brats that sat behind me, the parents should have been slapped. Ginger picked a perfect spot on the hill and the weather was great. Would like to do it again.
    •  Always love the fireworks at Victory Field!
    • Kelly M (+1 guest)
       Great, relaxing, family friendly event!
