Tell us a little about your writing career.

I've worked on writing projects since my teenage years with time served on school newspapers (4 total), internship on a daily city paper, human interest features published in a social magazine distributed in the Midwest (pre ezines), and contributed interviews and blogs to several websites. I have lately been focusing on personal projects (two memoirs, SS, fiction, stage play) and hope to work my way through the "ideas" file that has been following me from computer to computer. I have self-published two books in the last three years (over 150 copies sold!) with more in the works.

Who are your literary influences?

Tom Robbins, Augusten Burroughs, John Irving, John Barth, Gore Vidal, Vonnegut, Capote, F. Scott Fitzgerald

What do you hope to gain from our monthly workshop?

-Constructive feedback from my contemporaries -Opportunity to contribute feedback to others -Motivation to write more often -Push myself into foreign territory

Introduction

I would like to be retired but the economy hasn't been very cooperative. I have worked in retail (display, merchandising), PR (law firm), performance theatres (set-building, acting, tech, box ofc) and as personal assistant to a retired entrepreneur.
