Tell us a little about your writing career.

I have been writing for business for many years, mainly in the advertising field. I branched out into publishing for a few years, which I really love, and for the past three years have been an independent writer and editor, as well as publishing consultant. I write really good complaint letters, too. I would love to do more creative writing, which I used to do as a youngin' back in the day of disco. I look forward to hangin' with other words people!

Who are your literary influences?

I am not sure I have any particular writing influences, but I find that reading a lot and appreciating the different styles of writing help me to find my own unique voice and to appreciate it. I enjoy lots of writers ... Christopher Moore, C. S. Lewis, and whoever writes the back of cereal boxes.

What do you hope to gain from our monthly workshop?

To open up creatively and enjoy new people and ways to use my writing skills for fun and junk like that.

I write. I edit. I'm ridiculously professional.
