Even as a child, writing has been a large part of my life. From short, pithy cartoon strips to seven-year old essays about doubt to my recently-published short story, I have always been a writer.
I really like 1920's literature by expatriate American writers like Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Anderson, etc. (Although Anderson was much older, I often lump him together with the Lost Generation writers, because they were being published simultaneously.) More recent authors such as Palahniuk and Foer are also mighty in my esteem.
