Hi! I am a SAHM who has a Bachelors degree in journalism as well as a Masters degree in Elementary Education. I don't get the opportunity to explore my writing lately and this group will provide an exciting and challenging environment to do so
I have been published in three local Indiana newspapers as well as my Masters thesis published and located in the Library of Congress. I have been an active writer all my life and was fortunate to win "News Writer Of The Year" when I wrote for my high school newspaper. Two years ago I began writing a memoir about my son's autism. The book is 75% completed. I was fortunate enough to gain the attention of author Melody Carlson who reviewed a chapter of the memoir and suggested I push to get it published. This is where I cracked, became scared and quit. Perhaps this group will be the driving force I need to crossing that finish line.
I adore Edgar Allan Poe. I always have loved his method of storytelling. I cannot describe the excitement I receive when his writing is read aloud. In addition to Mr. Poe, growing up Mark Twain was always a passion of mine as I felt connected to the man as an author and individual and not just his stories. One guilty literary pleasure I have, that I haven't shared with anyone but my husband, is my adoration for none other than Danielle Steele. I won't apologize for this as I firmly feel she is an extraordinary author.
I would love to explore the writings of fellow members in hopes to advance my skills and gain back the confidence I once had.
