Graph Analysis with Neo4j and Infinit.e

Our first in person meetup is going to be a joint Meetup with Graph Database Baltimore-Washington (http://baltimore.meetup.neo4j.org/) December 11th.

Agenda:

6:30 PM - 7:00 PM: Networking, Food and Drink

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Presentations

8:00 PM - 8:30 PM: More networking!

Here is a tentative description of the presentation:

Infinit.e is an unstructured data analysis and decision support tool, which uses Hadoop, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, and a range of NLP tools and services to ingest data. It can pull out entities, relationships and sentiments from unstructured data.

Putting that data into Neo4j allows for some interesting graph analysis, as well as the ability to do ad-hoc graph queries with Cypher.

    Great meetup, thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Posting this message to gauge interest in collaborating on a demo/tutorial/technology demonstrator that shows infinite and neo4j working in concert. I'm not completely at ease with infinite's use-cases but here is what I am thinking:

    1. Get a wikipedia extract into infinite
    2. Run queries against infinite and load into neo4j
    3. Have a simple front end that allows exploration of the result.

    Would like to hear other ideas as well.

      Hi Craig, we could build off of DBPedia, the purpose of the stated exercise was to understand how infinite works (and especially in the graph databases example). So for example in a universe where DBPedia does not exist, are there features in infinite that help us substitute DBPedia?
