Informal Android Developer Meetup Message Board › Android Q's
There were a few questions from the Informal Android Meetup last night that some of you may have had experience with and are welcome to share your comments.
1) Is MotoDev a good choice for a development platform for Andriod for doing development using Android technology for devices (not necessarily smartphones)? Is anyone using this that can comment on the pros/cons, how well it supports the Android SDK, etc. Or is it better to stick with Eclipse for everything.
2) What testing software seems to be the best for Android development? Most in the group shared that they were doing manual testing since writing automated tests were very tedious and the results weren't conclusive. Any tips?

Those are excellent questions, Laura.
For the second question, the JUnit framework has been integrated with Android, and developers can in theory easily add JUnit tests as they develop their code.
In practice though, I have heard people express regret that JUnit is not always easy to apply.
There's a good summary of JUnit with Android here http://mylifewithandr...
and a good tutorial here http://mobile.tutsplu...
I'd be glad to hear more from others who are actively using JUnit with their android code.
