Information Architecture
From the IAInstitute (http://iainstitute.org/en/learn/resources/w...)

Information architecture is defined as:

  • The structural design of shared information environments.
  • The art and science of organizing and labeling web sites, intranets, online communities and software to support usability and findability.
  • An emerging community of practice focused on bringing principles of design and architecture to the digital landscape.

As information proliferates exponentially, usability is becoming the critical success factor for websites and software applications. Good IA lays the necessary groundwork for an information system that makes sense to users.

Content Strategy

Content Strategy is a way to ensure that an organization's content (or web content) meets both business and user needs. It looks at how content is designed, structured, developed, maintained, and evaluated. It includes content usability, process and governance, how content needs to be prepared to support associated strategies such as x-channel, accessibility, social, etc.

This Group Brings CS and IA Togther

Collaboration between CS and IA is super valuable, so we're hoping to get some good conversations started.
