The R.U.F.F. Ride is the public fun ride held in conjunction with the Redlands Bicycle Classic. This is our 5th year, and it's the 30th for the Classic! 5, 10, 31 and 62 mile routes. If you're a road racing fan, you should be done in time to watch the Pros - Women's Criterium at 2:30, Men's at 4:30.
The Inland Empire Women Cyclists (IEWC) is a Meetup group geared towards women who want to bicycle ride together. We are NOT a bike racing group. We ARE a group of women of all ages and levels of cycling experience. We encourage new riders, start and generally ride together, and leave no one behind.
We welcome you to check out our ride calendar and join us at whatever ride level you feel most comfortable. You'll meet some new friends, become a stronger, better and safer cyclist, have some laughs, and often enjoy the opportunity to share a post-ride meal in the company of some very interesting and dynamic ladies (and from time to time, a few gentlemen/boyfriends/husbands).
The IEWC site is set-up in a bulletin board format so that anyone can post a ride. Members can post rides with any riding options, whether it be through the city streets or on bikepaths, short or long-distance routes. Our intent is to have rides that offer a nice mix of casual, fitness or goal-specific rides. We want riders of all abilities to be able to find like riders to ride with. In the Spring and Summer, we offer more regular evening rides as light permits. In the Fall and Winter, we offer weekend rides and a few early morning rides as the temperature and work schedule permits. If you have a favorite ride or a suggestion for a new ride, we encourage you to post it. DO CHECK THE CALENDAR OFTEN FOR UPDATES AND NEW RIDES!
Our bike shop sponsor, Coates Cyclery in Pomona, fully supports the IEWC and will work with us to provide informative, hands-on clinics as well as member discounts on bikes, service, and accessories.
Please remember, a helmet is required for all our rides. Your bike should also be in good working condition before each ride and you should always be prepared with ID, water, an energy snack, tubes, a pump and some ability to fix your own flat tire!
