Get in the bloom with IUE for our first ever POTLUCK and our kickoff event for our June Bloom Series of workshops and events! We want you to learn how you can apply the principles of Urban Ecology to your home and so we have brought together some of our regeneration leaders to share their knowledge and help our community reach its green potential. Workshops will cover such topics as beekeeping, chicken keeping, backyard composting, and homesteading.
Our June Bloom Kickoff Potluck will feature a talk by legendary Altadena Urban Farmer and Water Queen Leigh Adams. Leigh has been harvesting tens of thousands of gallons of free rainwater since she redesigned her backyard two years ago to work with nature instead of against her. Leigh will be talking about her experiences harvesting rainwater, and the true abundance which is available to us when we apply the principles of Urban Ecology. Leigh’s talk will be followed by community discussion and brainstorming.
Please bring a dish for all to share for this wonderful potluck dinner. Please label your dish as Vegan (VV – contains no meat, dairy, eggs, or other animal products), Vegetarian (V – no meat), or Meat (M).
