This group is for those with a desire to live a more self-reliant life. Knowing how to do things yourself can save lots of money, and serve your family during an emergency situation. Now is the time to learn some new skills and get back to basics!
Examples of skills that will be shared in this group are: DIY laundry detergent and shampoo, frugal living, baking/cooking from scratch, canning, dehydrating, gardening, seed-saving, cheese-making, food storage, hand-mending, caring for backyard chickens and goats, basic automotive repair, basic plumbing repair, disaster preparedness, etc.
IMPORTANT: We will discuss raising animals for food, and include meetups that teach skills on humanely killing meat animals. We also discuss gun safety and shooting skills. If this goes against your personal beliefs, do not join this group!
Please note that this is a PARTICIPATION GROUP! That means that you will be asked to eventually share a skill or some knowledge. If you think you don't have a skill to share, think again! ALL of us have something to contribute, no matter how insignificant you may think your abilities are :-)
