Potluck and Study Group: The Treasure of the Mind's Merit Asset

“All mental phenomena have mind as their forerunner; they have mind as their chief; they are mind-made. If one speaks or acts with an evil mind, suffering follows him just as the wheel follows the hoof print of the ox that draws the cart.”

“All mental phenomena have mind as their forerunner; they have mind as their chief; they are mind-made. If one speaks or acts with a pure mind, happiness follows him like a shadow that never leaves him.”

Potluck & Study Group :  The treasure of the mind’s merit asset

Those holy beings that have attained the fully enlightened state of a Buddha were just like us once. They followed the great masters before them and learned to develop perfect merit and wisdom assets in their minds. Join us as we talk about the perfection of merit and wisdom, the same qualities that we strive for in Buddhist study.

Please join us as we discuss

-  What are the merit assets of our mind, and how do we cultivate them?

-  Why do we need merit assets?

-  How can we contemplate and reflect on these qualities in the Buddha in stories?  In images? In stupas?  Why do we do this, what is the value to us?

This evening will be a wonderful opportunity to contemplate the qualities of the Buddhas and the Buddhist teachings, no matter your level of experience.  Our local Buddhist study groups are under the guidance of our lama, Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche.  Together we learn to extract the essence of Buddhist practice to apply it to ourselves to transform our hearts, our minds, and our futures.  Buddhist cultivation can have a profound impact on ourselves and others!  All are welcome to join us.

Please reply and RSVP if you are interested in attending our study group!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
