CHILI COOKOFF!!

  1. Meet at Haynes house at 6:00 pm. (Address available after sign-up) Judging will begin at 7:00 pm
  2. Chili Recipes must be prepared ahead of time and be hot before judging. We recommend that you bring your chili hot, but you can warm up when you get there.
  3. We need volunteers to bring items for the toppings bar- grated cheese, sour cream, charred limes, chopped cilantro, chopped onions, tortilla chips, cornbread, etc.  Check the Message Board for a list of items you may volunteer to bring.
  4. Each participant must provide a minimum of 20 servings of chili.
  5. Any type of chili is welcomed. If you want to make a vegetarian chili, go for it!
  6. We are looking for three volunteer judges.
  7. Contestants will be judged on “Appearance, Texture, Taste and Color, etc. Please email a copy of the recipe so we can post it to our message board. (word format)
  8. Cold beer and soft drinks will be in abundance. Fire extinguishers may be present as well.
  9. Prizes will be given.

There will be no charge for this event

    Such a variety of chilis! There was something for everyone. I'm hoping that some of the chili cooks will share their recipes with us. This meetup group has to be one of the best . The people are friendly and interesting, and no one could beat out Marki as the 'hostess with the mostest!'

    May I suggest that we put the chilis in an order so that the ones competing for hottest chili title are served last? Otherwise we may run the risk of burning out our taste buds and not being able to give an honest evaluation of the not so spicy hot ones.
