To the Organizers: Would it be possible to create a Closed Facebook Group for all members? It would allow us a platform to ask one another questions without it being open to the public! I have a burning / urgent client question that I'd like to ask, but want to keep it confidential. If you like, I could set it up sometime between today and tomorrow evening? All in support, please like! :)

It could also be on LinkedIn if you prefer it over Facebook. (If so, then please like this comment!).

Hi Everyone, We've started a discussion thread to share resources of links and books, so that it can be easily accessed at anytime with all of our group members. Discussions can be found under the menu tab of the group page or here: http://www.meetup.com/UX-Design-Therapy/messages/boards/thread/42111862#[masked]

Great night and very nice to meet everyone again!

I think we might need a "tools and tricks" section on the webpage where we can share resources like the one I mention below.

I also noticed we mentioned a lot of books last night. It would be nice to see a section for those on the site as well.

Juliana asked me to post this.

    It's Chrome's Speech Recognition API.

With just a few lines of simple javascript, you can have instant transcription of a user's thoughts spoken out loud.

    Demo:

It's... too... cool. So simple to use, you just need a basic mash up understanding of JS and it gives you so much power...

Good meeting with good questions and some sage advice from both freelance practitioners as well as staff UX people at companies.

Definitely, I felt I picked up a lot of useful tips that I can deploy when doing my own testing to avoid pitfalls and gather valuable insights. Thanks for your ideas David on structuring off the cuff user research.

Sadly, this group is so limited to only 20. Wish I could attend as I am on the waiting list, I will propose a question here that I would if I were able to attend in person and see if anyone wants to help tackle it. Q: What are your best/favorite app Search UX/UI's? We are in the middle of a very difficult search design build, and to simply, elegantly offer a search that both has search categories and location fields, is tough. What are some of your favorite complex search fields? I fear that many people say search is a simple UX issue, when in fact it is not.
