Robot me bad: Robots & Cyborgs

Rubbing off on the quality speakers that TED brought to town, we are also upping the ante for the session on Robotics. We are delighted to have Edgar Flores, Chief Scientist Officer and Director of Engineering at Human-Robotic Technologies, an innovation and engineering company on the cutting edge of human-like robotics designed for medical advancements. Edgar will be demoing  “Uma”, the most advanced android head to date (in terms of degrees-of-freedom (DOF) and anatomically accuracy) and the first android system in Canada at a professional level.

Tech talk for the sake of technology? Nope. Edgar will explain how he will use "Uma" to treat children with autism.

As usual his informative session and demo will be followed by a discussion on how robots (Artificial Intelligence - AI) and cyborgs (Intelligence Amplification - IA) will be commonplace sooner than you think.

We definitely need a part 2 for this session. A mind-blowing session that will keep the threads of innovation spinning like crazy for a long time.
