What is mind? (part 1)

Diesel Cafe (map)

What is mind?

“In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's mind there are few” -- Shunryu Suzuki

Who am I? Where is your mind? Is it your brain?

Are you a glorified walking computer? If so, who is the programmer?

Do we have free will, or are our decisions predetermined by the neural network of our brain? Do we only think we have free will? How does our mind shape our perceptions of reality? To what extent can we expand our potential by changing our internal vision, our life scripts?

Over several Meetups, we'll explore questions of free will, neuroscience, perception, and a bit of philosophy.
Come join us for a lively exploration.

It was great to have so many folks contributing to the discussion. A very lively thought provoking discussion. Of course you'd expect that since everyone at the Meetup tonight was just an illusion in Mitch's mind. Now what sort of plate are you thinking of?

An excellent discussion of hard-to-define issues among bright, interesting, respectful members. Socialzing afterwards was fun and rewarding, too.

The best part was when we determined that I am everything - all mind, all matter...just everything. I mean, on some level, I knew it all along, but it was nice to have outside confirmation.
