Cambridge's Brattle Theatre gives genius puppeteer Jim Henson props with his very own mini-series. For this event--a double feature showing of The Muppet Movie and The Dark Crystal--you'll get to see 2 movies for the price of 1. Stay for 1 or both!
TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE! General admission tickets for Brattle shows are $9.75 for non-members, $7.75 for members w/valid Brattle membership card.
So ... I'll confirm this closer to the event, but let's plan to meet in front of the box office @ 7:00 pm. If anyone is interested in meeting me for a light dinner beforehand, let me know. I'm thinking about upstairs at The Algiers at about 6:00 (the lentil soup is fabulous!).
Now, about my FREE PASSES: I have a Brattle membership so I have 7 free passes to share for this event. If you want one, you must email me (Anor) separately...first come, first served. When they're all gone, I'll post it here. If you change your mind about attending this event, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can offer the pass to someone else.
UPDATE 4/4/10: Please remember that if you've RSVP'd 'yes' to this event and you are NOT getting a free pass from me, you'll need to purchase a ticket either at the Brattle's box office or through their online ticketing site. As of today, 3 passes have been spoken for, so I have 4 passes still available. As Arwen Evenstar would say, "...if you want one, come and claim one!"
UPDATE 4/5/10: ALL PASSES ARE SPOKEN FOR ... but don't let that stop you from joining us. Purchase a ticket--or better yet, invest in a membership: it's a great deal with the 12 free passes and there are a number of Meetup groups that use Brattle shows as events.
UPDATE 4/12/10: The showing of The Dark Crystal has been canceled by the theatre. If you were planning to see both movies, please be aware that this event is no longer a double-feature. If you already bought your ticket thinking you were going to see a double-feature, a voice at the Brattle told me that The DC will be playing Monday evening (April 19) and you can go to that showing but you'll have to call the theatre first so they can put your name on a list of people to let in.
For those of you who are up to it, we can go somewhere nearby after The Muppet Movie to eat, drink, talk, mingle, etc. Also, I'll be upstairs at the Algiers at about 6:00 pm, so feel free to join me if you'd like a bite to eat beforehand.
(Thanks for the heads-up, Amy!!!)
See you Saturday, the 17th!!!
#;-)
I was just on the Brattle's website and it stated that the Dark Crystal was cancelled for the 17th. Just wanted to let you know .
Just got your message, Amy ... sorry we missed you in the balcony! Hope you enjoyed the Muppets.
I loved the Muppet Movie, curious about The Dark Crystal;
can't make it. Have Fun!
