    Doris Lessing is a poet, novel writer and a thought provoker. In 2007, she was awarded the Nobel prize in literature. When told by the press she had one she joked:

    "I've won all the prizes in Europe, every bloody one, so I'm delighted to win them all. It's a royal flush."
