Over thirty years ago, I came to understand that “the only source of knowledge is experience”, but unlike that quote's author (A.E.), I applied it to my life. I run The Cambridge Moveable Feast meet-up. Currently, I am studying at Harvard.
That there will be greater open-mindedness than is generally found in either the urban/academic environment or the rural/traditional environment. The blend of activities and discussion is a good one, particularly when the activities are "real-world".
I have built everything from outhouses to highrises. I am or have been a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the International Professional Hunters' Association & MENSA. I once held a Professional Boxing Manager's license. I've been to Africa 6 times.
No doubt. Don't know if anyone else would be interested though. 1) Why the trend toward veganism when if implemented globally, it would have devastating environmental and cultural consequenses? 2) Why the "exotic other" has so much appeal? ...
Highly intellectual or intensely physical. I do a lot of lectures with my group, but would enjoy more physical stuff. With the two combined, you've really got something. No interest in sports (except boxing) or pop, abstract, post-modernist culture.

Hi Steve, How does the upcoming open learning "meetup" work?
This is an online course open to anyone, so how are we meeting up?
Hi Steve - would you send me an email and explain how the open learning online sessions at Harvard works? Thanks
Hallo Steve!
Mystified: no RSVP's available? Reason i ask is because I'm interested, not only in attending but, in going with accompanyiety. Yes, accompanyiety. OK! m

Steve, you're welcome to come, I just want to let you know that I have an interview the next day and will probably be winding down at around that time. Thanks for your post about the harvard class. It looks interesting. Next meet up will be on a wednesday.
Hi Steve,
Why do I only see the Harvard Ecotourism course listed in fall 2010 and not the spring listing?
Eva
Hi Steve,
It is too bad you were not able to join us last Friday but we will probably reschedule this event in the summer so hopefully we will meet then.
:) Stephanie
Hey Steve,
Welcome to the group! Your CMF events look like a great fit for Boston Mensa's calendar -- please consider cross-listing them! (Both here on MU and in the Beacon) -- we could use more intellectual activities.

Steve, please note that the MHS event (Tocqueville) was listed as 5/14/10. Correct date is 6/8/10. Would you mind responding to "Lisa," who posted an inquiry to me, but whose email settings allow only the organizer to reach her? Thanks. Best, Dave
