Christmas *DO*

Networking, food, drinks entertainment and Christmas Hat Competition!

We'll be providing wine, beer, soft drinks and food. YOU provide the hats!

Steve T Barman @ThirstFirst_UK will concoct your very own cocktails if you bring a bottle of something you find lurking at the back of the drinks cabinet!

Kathy Salaman @GoodGrammarComp will show us, with the help of a
willing volunteer, how easy it is to rap to Shakespeare!

I'll keep thinking of sentences to end with a !

Come and join in the fun!

An after party!

If you still have some energy to burn there is a great jazz party in town at The Hidden Rooms!

"As ever, something very special for Christmas. This year Santa is treating us to no less than eight hard-blowing brass players on the Hidden Rooms stage (and no doubt around the rest of the venue too)! Since forming in 2008, Bad Ass Brass has been thrilling audiences with its bold, funky music and high adrenaline performances. The band takes its influence from the sounds of traditional New Orleans brass bands but adds its own unique twist. Bad Ass Brass is comprised of some of the UK's finest brass players and jazz musicians who are busy working on the London music scene in jazz bands, West End shows, big bands and orchestras and their strong sense of friendship results in an electric presence on stage. Hold on to your hats ... It's gonna blow!"

For more information, see the website here.

Venue: Hidden Rooms.

Price £15.00; £12.00 (Students inc U3A)

Cocktails were made to order. Rap was rapped. There were nachos with sour cream dip. It simply does not get much more enjoyable than that.

Mad, bad and dangerous! Steve The Barman was superb, shaking cocktails and astounding us all with his Tardis-like mobile bar. Kathy Salaman and rappers Jon Torrens and Ed Goodman surpass description. Attendees, as always were charming, fascinating and, unfailingly, a joy to be with.

    Here's the deal folks...

Bring a bottle of ANYTHING. It can be a half bottle (35cl) that you've bought especially, or a normal bottle that, as Ann says, you've had stashed in the cupboard for ages. Anything from Vodka or Rum to the weird & wonderful like Ouzo or Amarula. Don't bring Martini/Cinzano/Port/Sherry that you opened last year though. Throw it away, it will be off!!

Also, bring a Mixer. Anything like a carton of Tropical juice, to even a Bottlegreen Cordial. Literally anything goes. Even a Jar of Jam!!

Anything we've not drunk will be returned at the end of the night.

I'll supply a few purées, syrups, bitters (not the IPA kind), herbs, cocktail umbrellas and of course Ice!

Well, I've booked in hope anyway - currently looking for a new contract, and hoping I can work in Cambridge again. Won't be able to make the next TIG meet, though, I'm afraid - I'll be in Vegas. (He said, sniffing back crocodile tears. *grin*)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
