Women's Circle Book Club

Next Book: "A Woman's Worth" by Marianne Williamson I've underlined so many words of wisdom from this book and found myself reading about myself!  Williamson relates in raw truth her experiences as she passed from not understanding her worth as a woman to reveling in her new found Goddess-like qualities. Great insight into what so many of us have experienced, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Here's a passage:  "Who is to hold the space for a woman's greatness?  Many times a man is threatened by a woman's greatness, finding a variety of ways to make her question her own beauty and strength.  Any man who holds a woman back is not a man a woman can afford to be with."

A Book Club is a great way to stimulate conversation and I’d like this club to be about sharing our Spiritual Journeys, through books by and about Women.

I thought we could alternate Metaphysical Texts with Fiction and Poetry. It’s been my experience that even though I am continually “studying” to expand my Higher Consciousness, and have discovered many “aha” moments through various pundits, sometimes I get worn out from the density of the writing!  I’ve found that oftentimes Fiction and Poetry can discuss and answer some of the same topics while providing a more  enjoyable reading experience! And later on, if you’re interested and like to write, it would be great to share thoughts and comments from our own journals and/or writings.

Other Books I’d like to consider, all by Women: Pema Chodron’s Teachings on CD; The Red Tent, What Looks Like Easy on an Ordinary Day, The Seeker’s Guide, Mary Oliver Poetry, 7 Cats and the Art of Living, The Homemade Heart Remedy, Kitchen Table Wisdom, A Woman’s Worth.

Even if you can’t read the book by the scheduled date, we will read excerpts from it and have a lively discussion sharing what and/or how you relate to the thoughts!

Looking forward to seeing you!   Lou
