Bloomsbury is home to a large number of Blue Plaques and beautiful Georgian architecture and squares.
Join us on a leisurely photowalk taking in some of the beautiful architecture and open spaces in the area. The meeting point is outside the main entrance to the Western concourse of Kings Cross station
Our walk will take us past:
The Brunswick Centre (1970s brutalist architecture)
Mecklenburgh Square *
SOAS Japanese Roof Garden **
Fitzroy Square *
Bedford Square *
Ending at Holborn tube station by which time we'll probably need liquid refreshment!
Squares marked * are normally not accessible to the public but as this is Open Garden Squares Weekend if you have a ticket, available for £10 from http://www.opensquares.org or £12 on the day from a participating garden, you can actually go in to the square itself rather than peering through the railings.
** The SOAS Japanese Garden is only accessible with an Open Garden Squares ticket.
If it's as warm as it has been recently make sure you apply lots of sunscreen and bring some water with you.
