Building Regional Resilience with Values Memes and MeshWORKS™
Thursday, September 19, 7:00-8:30 PM (registration, networking, coffee/tea and desert 6:30 PM)
Back Door, Westbury United Methodist Church, 5200 Willowbend Blvd @ West Belfort, Houston, TX
MeshWORKS™ are the future. Although the world has traditionally been subdivided into various categorizations (economic class, specialty, social purpose, etc.), the way of the future is the MeshWORKS™. There, currently separate entities are allied for overarching common goals. Examples of this are Transition Houston and Houston Urban Gardeners.
If you have an interest in seeing these and similar MeshWORKS™ continue to thrive, we invite you to engage with author and economist Said Dawlabani and Dr. Don Beck, architect of the nation building process chronicled in the movie Invictus to get a 21st Century perspective on building resilience. In a small group setting, we will discuss how to bring together many disparate groups to strive toward realization of a superordinate goal. As Southwest Airlines Former CEO Howard Putnam says of MEMEnomics and MeshWORKS™ - "If you want to be on the leading edge of transformation, here is your opportunity.”
Note: Unlike the program Monday, there is a chance that this conversation will shift into other integral topics; Don may be open to that at this program, depending on the crowd that attends (his call). Monday evening's event will stay on the topic of food, sustainability, and integral solutions.
