IMPORTANT: When I took over this abandoned group in July 2009, I made this group private, for the comfort of our members. To request new membership, you MUST answer the profile questions COMPLETELY--I'm serious; incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. I will read answers and offer membership accordingly, so please put some thought into your answers.

Also, profile photos, recently taken, in which your face is clearly recognizable, are required. No pics of your pets or you from 10,000 feet.

This group is for singles looking for something beyond what the other singles groups are doing. No boozin' and crusin' focused events here. The idea is for single, intellectually curious people to meet and befriend each other.

Here's what I intend:
* small group events, mostly, to allow quality interaction
* themes for events, beyond, again, just boozing or lust
* discussions, debates, seminars (by our members)
* exploration

Members are expected to be respectful toward each other.

Please get involved. You join this group (or any group, for that matter) to change some aspect of your life. In our case, it's to have more activities, to have more friends, or to find someone to date. None of that change happens, however, without you investing time and effort.

Also, being a no-show (you RSVP yes but then are absent without notifying the event organizer) for events is disrespectful to the organizers and to other group members as well as harmful to the businesses which may be hosting our events. No-shows will lead to removal from this group. I take a hard line on this.

I also organize another group focused on food & drink as a window to culture, so there'll likely be some joint events.

I need assistant organizers, please--I'm way beyond busy but didn't want to see this group die after it was abandoned. I also need meeting ideas. Please email me.
