Public Lecture

Join in for a public lecture by Dr. Karen Litfin, UW professor who embarked upon a journey to many of the world's ecovillages -- intentional communities at the cutting-edge of sustainable living – to explore how we can make a difference in a world of dwindling natural resources. From rural to urban, high tech to low tech, spiritual to secular, she discovered an under-the-radar global movement making positive and radical changes from the ground up.

Now Professor Litfin is coming to Portland to share what she learned during her ecovillage research and share highlights from her newly published book, "Ecovillage: Lessons for Sustainable Community."

Thurs, Jan 9th, 7-9pm at Ecotrust: http://www.ecotrust.org/events/calendar.html

She's also talking at PSU at noon on the 10th if you can't make this one! http://www.pdx.edu/sustainability/events/lessons-worlds-ecovillages-karen-litfin

For those who are going to this lecture, anyone interested in meeting someplace afterwards to discuss?

Good call, Don - for those of you wanting to talk more with each other - I suggest walking over to Davis Street Tavern, on NW Davis St and 5th, nearby together after the talk!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
