Playgroup happens first Saturday's 10:00 to 12:00 at a rented space. After 1st time- Suggest Donation is $5 to $15 . This announcement and Meetup Group is fairly new, but the InterPlay community is a world-wide organization and has been in existence for many years. Locally, there are usually 12 to 20 people who attend Sat Playgroup and it is growing. Find more info on www.InterplayNC.org. Everyone is welcome and no preparation or skills are required. InterPlay is all about having fun, releasing many of the everyday pressures and the serious side of life. It is finding the wisdom in our bodies, like children do so well. You can be active to the extent you wish or just witness others. You will learn incremental, easy ways to express yourself thru movement, musically, verbally or whatever. It's about using your unique gifts. It's about getting to know yourself and others better, in a friendly, supportive, receptive atmosphere. Basic easy forms are taught which enable fun activities. For example, walking (predictably or in unexpected ways), running and stopping to music, as a group, is fun and might even be called dancing. For example stories we tell one another would usually have a beginning, middle and end, and can incorporate a lie or not, it can be told in a large voice or small, high or low. Have you ever told a three sentence story to someone? And here babbling is a highly prized way to warm-up or get acquainted. You can use your body to help tell the story. Or, you can tell a story with only your body. Another example is doing made-up music or rhythm in small groups. And, there is opportunity to perform for a small or large group- playing music or singing or telling a story or dancing, or anything made up.

Sorry to have missed. I planned to skip the gym but my aches told me I needed exercise more. I'll keep trying.

Very appreciative of such personal discussion and feel it's of broad benefit to others too. It represents a part of 'our' story, no? This is really in the spirit of InterPlay to be so openly authentic.

Suzanne, what prompts me is the schedule at my gym. I get a lot out of a class, where an instructor tells you what to do and I don't have to make up a routine or get bored. :). I was uncertain about posting such transparency ancy,

Oh Joann. We are in constant motion at interplay. At our own speed and intensity of course, but it's a great workout.

    Hi,
Thank you for the kind greeting.
I was planning to attend today’s meeting. Unfortunately, my car did not want to take me to the meeting place (didn’t start). I hope to be able to attend the next meetup. Sorry.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
