The 100th Event. "An Interesting Journey" by Matt Kendall

On the 14th January 2011, a new meetup group called “Interesting Talks London” was founded by Matt Kendall. On the 9th October 2013, the group will be celebrating it's 100th event.

In 2 ½ years Interesting Talks has attracted speakers from all over UK and even as far afield as Texas, Germany, Italy and Indonesia. It has become a firm fixture on the London speaking circuit. It has gone from once monthly to up to 4 events per week.

With nearly 5000 members, Interesting Talks is currently one of the largest and most active meetup groups in Europe. The group has over 230 reviews and a near perfect sell out record. This has been achieved without outside help, without sponsorship and by keeping the events extremely affordable.

In this talk “An Interesting Journey” Matt is going to clearly lay out his techniques, strategies and mindset for turning an idea into reality. These are things that you can easily apply in your own life and start your own Interesting Journey.

This event will be hosted by Hag Hughes. Hag was the very first speaker at Interesting Talks, he wasn’t even scheduled to appear. At the first event, both speakers pulled out last minute (Hayley Quinn and Marcus Oakey, both have returned to speak many times but we still like to remind them about how they stood us up at the start), leaving it up to members of the audience to get on stage and speak. Luckily, Hag happened to be there. As they say, the rest is history.

Hag has since returned to Interesting Talks for the 50th event and as part of Ask the Experts. Hag will also be speaking at the 100th event on how to create an amazing lifestyle.

This event is going to be a celebration and a thank you to the amazing speakers and members. It is going to sell out quickly, so please get your seat ASAP.

EVENT DETAILS

Booking tickets: To book a ticket you need to click on “Attend” on the right hand side of the page. You will then be taken through to the payment page where you need a credit or debit card. Please note that although Paypal is used for payment, you do not need a Paypal account, just a credit or debit card.

We are not able to take payment in any other form. You can book up to 3 tickets maximum (you plus 2 guests).

Tickets are not available on the door.

Tickets are non-transferable and can not be sold to other members.

We have a waiting list system in place.

Venue: St James Church Conference Centre. Walk down Piccadilly on the left hand side, away from Piccadilly Circus until you reach Costa Coffee (part of the Waterstone’s building). We are then down the black metal stairs located about 10ft away from Costa.

Time: The Doors open at 6:30pm and the talk starts at 7pm sharp.

Please note that we no longer allow late admittance to the talks. Late arrivals are extremely disruptive to the speaker, the audience members and the recording of the event. If you arrive past 7pm and the speaker has started, then you will not be permitted to enter the venue until the break at 7:45pm.

Refunds and cancelling tickets: Cancel your place with 24 hours notice, then a credit for a future talk (availability permitting) will be granted.

To cancel your place and get a talk credit you need to follow these exact steps;

1. Change your RSVP to “not going”

2. Email me at [masked] and include your membership number (found on your profile page and indicate what talk you are cancelling and what talk you would like to attend instead.

Cash refunds are not available.

Waiting list: If you are on the waiting list then you will be sent an automatic notification should a place become available. Once this email it sent, it is first come first served.

You need to change your RSVP to “going” and then make payment. If it is not allowing you to change your RSVP then it is because someone else has already got in there before you.

Food and drinks: Please feel free to bring in your own drinks, refreshments are not provided. Please however refrain from bringing in food.

Speaking at events: If you are interested in speaking at a future event, please email me direct at matt at interestingtalks dot co dot uk and put “speakers pack” in the subject bar. I will then send you all the details.

Really enjoyed your talk, thank you Matt. I thought the line, "People who tend to look for inspiration and motivation tend to spend their time looking for inspiration and motivation" was brilliant Matt. I've been a little guilty of that before...

Matt thanks for a very enjoyable evening. I was very inspired by what you and Dan had to say. I came mainly out of curiosity but also with a desire to hear from and engage with like minded people looking to improve their lives and "get things done". I'm generally quite skeptical of a lot of the groups on meetup (and sick of the constant emails about new groups!) but I have to say I am convinced that I can gain a lot by being a part of this group. Expect to see a lot more of me in the future!

Hi, very nice group. You probably dont expect this question but I am going to ask anyway. What do I have to do to convince you that I can give a speech about the Three Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought that will be beneficial for people. It deals with explaining the nature of human experience, improves inner health, performance and well being. Thank you.
