How to get an extraordinary career by Lucia Labouchere

We are lucky to have Lucia come all the way from Malawi to speak at Interesting Talks once again. Learn how to take the leap from someone who has recently done it themselves.

Do you know what you want from your life and career?

Are you craving something more, something different, something extraordinary but you are not really sure exactly what?

It can be really hard to get to the bottom of what YOU want to do in life and in your career, so hard that you can spend your whole life doing something you don’t really want to be doing, compromising, hearing yourself say ‘it’s ok, I am grateful for what I have, I am lucky in many ways, it pays the bills…’

Perhaps you genuinely have no idea what else you want to do or maybe you do have a seed of an idea but it feels pretty far-fetched, a bit crazy, yet it does keep coming back to you? And you have no idea how to make it happen…  This talk is for you.

In it, using anecdotes from her own life and some of her clients, transformational coach Lucia, will inspire you to take the first steps towards a career and life you choose and totally love and are not compromising on.It is less about the leap more about the small steps, one after the other.  Eyes wide open.

She will guide you through 5 steps to send you on your way…

1) She will help you gain absolute clarity on what you really want from your career/life

2) She will help you identify the transformational skills that you have for that

3) She will help you get to the bottom of the fears and beliefs that are getting in your way

4) She will help you come up with ideas/ options/ possibilities/ ways to move forward, keep all that is important and letting go of what is not

5) She will see you committing to a plan, taking the first small steps

Lucia Labouchere

Lucia started her career as a headhunter for investment management companies in London.  Always knowing this was not exactly what she wanted to do, but unsure what she did want and driven by the desire to buy a house in Italy, she managed 5 years before she resigned in search of a career with ‘a greater sense of purpose’ – following a post-graduate qualification in psychotherapy she moved across to International Development where she spent 3 years running an HIV project in Malawi for an Italian NGO.

But it wasn’t quite what it was cracked up to be and she decided it was time to stop… to really get to the bottom of what it was SHE wanted to be doing with her days and what was going to bring her ultimate satisfaction day in day out.  With the help of her own coach, she gathered together all the things that were genuinely important to her and all the skills she had learnt and enjoyed using and with those has set up her own thriving coaching business.

She runs transformational coaching programmes by Skype and in person helping successful individuals who have been stuck behind desks to get clear on what they want from their career and life and making a plan to get there.  She sees her clients break lifelong patterns and blast through limiting beliefs.  As she has done.

She is based between Malawi, the UK and Italy, mainly Malawi where she has just finished building a house on a farm with her partner, Luca, an agronomist from Italy.

This talk is for you if you are craving something different from your career and life…  and you are committed to making a change, however small.  It is for those of you who are ready to say ‘why not?’ Come with an open mind and be prepared to wholly interact.

Very interesting talk - found the 2nd half more rewarding than the 1st half. Made me think more about things i can do to make my present career more interesting and worthwhile, rather than ideas for a change of career.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
